motorcycle gloves comments

motorcycle gloves comments:
Dainese blew these. Do they expect the girls who'd wear these to be gullible enough to pay such high price for an insufferable fit, to be unbreakable superwomen that need minimal protections, or to be discouraged by such joking treatment that they just stay away from serious riding!!?
I ordered these Alpinestars gloves at a Dainese store after trying the men's equivalent thinking that the women's would fit (slimmer palm, longer fingers) and look better. I received these in the mail and were shocked by their poor-fit and lack of protection.
Then what upsets me, as this happens with the majority of brands, is that the girl's design is such a cheat and downgrade from men's (supposedly comparable) versions of metal motorcycle gloves - at the same high price! The gloves, except the knuckle plate and shield that deceivingly shine like Valentino Rossi's, they are soft everywhere else, not a bit of meaningful protection on finger joints, sides or wrists, the palms go completely thin and flimsy!
i should stick with men's track gloves and stay mindful of the inferior woman's gear.
The fingers are extremely short - especially the middle and index fingers - almost half an inch too short; yet the palm is really baggy. I have normally shaped hands that are in no way too slim or long, these gloves seem to have been made for
Neanderthals' hand shapes. I had them on for a ride out on the streets and my two fingers' tips went sore from wanting to poke through the Alpinestars motorcycle gloves, yet my palm did not have good contact with the handle bar due to bagginess. Small tightening traps cut too short (close to the palm) on the wrists, bothersome! The cuff strap, due to lack of insert or padding, are too soft and thin to control its proper tightening around the sleeves, either too loose or too restrictive.

Helmet art

If you do, you'll decide to buy Scorpion helmets, the next step is to decide what style is right for you. Nine models of the basic types of Scorpion helmets to choose from, with its own characteristics and option settings for each. You have to think about, to your riding needs, your preferences, your riding ability and your personality, and then select your helmets. This is true whether you are a looking for new or used Scorpion helmets. I remember a four or five middle-aged man, he has a collection of a hundred different models of multi-color helmet, his helmet in a display room, than the store more than style.
Travelers requisites
During the competition, will often see wearing Scorpion helmets, and as well as hikers, whether they are riding a bicycle, motorcycle, off-road vehicle you will see its shadow. These models have their own unique look and personality. For example, the Road King has a classic retro look, and to attract many passengers. Scorpion helmets they wear you will feel it is a well-organized guard of honor, or the police. They look very dignified.

Scorpion helmets are often sponsored bicycle race tour, truck rally, the Scorpion helmets, it was a helmet to the people focus on bringing a culture of enjoyment, but also to promote its brand, Scorpion helmets actually looks to 60 years as from the 20th century were stamp collection. Each wants to have their own set of books collecting stamps, and Scorpion helmets is indeed a good collection of art. Manufactured in the United States Many people think that Scorpion helmets model designers, as a great sculptor, to create a variety of abrasive types of helmets.
rpion helmets its shape caused by its unique water chestnut, like a scorpion activities, designed helmet, too spiritual movement. But it's the safety factor is the highest of all helmet brands.

Motorcycle gloves safety inspection

If you are a motorcyclist, safety is the first factor to be considered. Proper maintenance of vehicles and often people have to do is ride a motorcycle, just as you are playing as a bicycle, you can place the bike apart, and maintenance. Important rules you must follow the traffic, whether you are a novice or you have to ride for decades. You have to go to follow the traffic laws of each country, no one can control the law.
First, know your motorcycle:
Understanding of your motorcycle and familiar part of each of its parts should know. Even the most experienced drivers. You should also know that each of its buttons, and its fuel consumption in order to more accurately calculate your travel route every time, it is like the modern horse, have to eat have always been to take care of it, it is best not to take other people's motorcycles, so you will feel very strange, very uncomfortable, unless you are very familiar with the characteristics of motorcycle models have been models. If it had just bought a motorcycle, you need a long time to become familiar with it, let it produce a feeling you find all the controls, it is not said. You have to go adjust its braking performance, the level of your seat, and know where the important controls, such as turn signals, horn buttons, lights, dimmer switch and spare fuel valves, these are very early, and it is your must be checked.
Preparation before riding
Distance traveled in order to avoid the unexpected happens, you should always perform safety checks, and then hit the road. Important to look at the tank tables, and if driving long distances, some barren place, you do not see any gas stations, electric motorcycles, but also to pay attention to your current, and power, then make sure the tire in good condition and to ensure that There will be no cut or puncture in the tire. You certainly do not want to have a tire blow out or sudden loss of air, when you ride. You should also check the tire pressure. Make sure your lights and horn all the functions, and adjust the mirrors if necessary.
The necessary preparations for your motorcycle
You better have a motorcycle can bring the car kit, after all, you never know when you might have a flat tire or need to make some adjustments. The protection of your eyes, head protection, hand protection, and foot protection, but also to bring the necessary preparations, your motorcycle helmet, motorcycle gloves, your boots, you do not forget those and in any vigilance, attention to changing road conditions. Forever you and other vehicles on the road enough space, and to promote defense at any time. Adhere to the speed limit, do not drink and drive. This is the most taboo thing, and very prone to accidents.

New features of Alpinestars SP-1

The main difference I have noticed with the Alpinestars motorcycle gloves is with the finish. Incidentally these gloves are also marketed as Alpinestars gloves just in case you were wondering they are the same thing! So the finish, compared to the Alpinestars gloves or Alpinestars GP Tech gloves the finish is a bit cheap. You may find that there are long threads hanging or the leather has not quite been cut to the fit you would expect. I guess Alpinestars can get away with it since its been marketed as a mid range glove. If you can live with the inferior finish then there is no reason not to buy these gloves. They will provide you with an excellent level of protection and come at a fantastic price. The cheapest I have seen the Alpinestars SP1 gloves are about $100 and its a great bargain at that price.

Alpinestars gloves are also on the market. You’ll also find them listed as Alpinestars SP-2 gloves and are very similar to the SP1 model but are even cheaper.

The SP-1 range also come in Alpinestars gloves Stella SP-1 format which is directed completely at the female market. It’s touted as having a cut specifically to fit a ladies hand and so it will fit much better.

Alpinestars SP-1 Gloves

Most of the Alpinestars gloves I have looked at so far have been pretty much at the top of the range. I hope I haven’t scared anyone off with the cost of these gloves. There are so called mid ranged biking gloves out there if that’s what you’re after. I know not everyone has $300 to spend on a pair of gloves so if you’re looking for that Alpinestars quality but your budget doesn’t quite stretch that far how about going for the Alpinestars gloves? They are aimed at general road use, you won’t catch any of the big named MotoGP stars using them but then hey how many of us are going to get to that level? Not me I know that much! Don’t let the ‘mid-range’ tag full you into thinking that you’re buying an inferior product though. They are stunning looking gloves and will provide you with an exceptionally high level of protection no matter what type of vehicle you’re on.

The Alpinestars motorcycle gloves are constructed from leather and the thickness of the leather varies from point to point on the gloves. Obviously the areas which require most protection have the thickest area of leather. Kevlar is also present which acts as additional abrasion resistance for that top quality protection. The knuckles are made up of carbon fiber and carbon fiber sliders are also present and correct on the fingers. As standard on the Alpinestars gloves these days is the ventilation holes to let a little air in to your hands for those long summer rides. These are present on the fingers and the wrist area. The wrist gauntlet is also rather familiar as it is the standard dual Velcro closure. The fit of these gloves is excellent and comes in various different sizes so you should find a pair to suit your needs. It is possible to get small Alpinestars gloves as I know this is a common query especially with the Alpinestars Alloy Gloves.

Scorpion Helmets in Hollywood

Dean McDermott, co-star of the Tori & Dean show featured on the Oxygen Channel, isn't your average Hollywood TV celebrity. He's as much a Scorpion motorcycle helmets enthusiast as the rest of us. He's been riding bikes since the ripe age of 12 and recently got the urge to take to the race track. So 'Scorpion USA' hooked him up with a full-custom race suit and helmets to get the job done. He now has his WERA racing license and has been chiseling his knee-dragging skills ever since. He's getting faster and part of that process is tossing the bike along the way. He's walked away from 2 crashes. One at low speed and another at over 100mph when the front end pushed out. Take a journey through Dean's trials and tribulations in trying to balance family and his need for speed by browsing through the below video's and tune in to the new season of "Tori & Dean - Home Sweet Hollywood" on the Oxygen Channel.

Scorpion Urban Destroyer Helmet

(Lake Forest, CA May 17, 2010) - It is survival of the fittest in the urban jungle, so Scorpion Helmets has decided to cry havoc and let slip with the latest Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet protection system: The Urban Destroyer! Designed to keep streetfighters cool no matter how hot the action gets this summer, the Destroyer jacket starts with a vented poly mesh shell, bolstered by fully ventilated CE-approved body armor at the elbows and shoulders.
The poly mesh shell also gets ballistic nylon panels in the high impact areas for when you are in a tight scrape, not to mention the fact that the Urban Destroyer also has your back, literally. There is a full-length back protector compartment, complete with a P.E. foam pad in place. Internally, a lightweight perforated liner makes for maximum air flow.
Additional refinements include two generous hand warmer pockets as well as an interior storage pocket. Reflective trim has been incorporated on the arms and back of the jacket for improved nighttime visibility. Dual waist-adjustment snaps and Velcro® arm adjustment tabs help keep the jacket or sleeves from flapping at triple digit speeds. The Urban Destroyer jacket comes in a basic black, bright blue or vivid red, ranging in size from S up through XXL.
Capping things off are the matching scorpion-exo-400 Urban Destroyer helmets. Featuring an advanced polycarbonate composite construction, the shell's aero-tuned design has been wind-tunnel tested to ensure things stay quiet inside when all hell is breaking loose outside. The SpeedShift® quick-change shield system makes for simple, tool-less faceshield changes in less than 10 seconds. Speaking of shields, Scorpion Helmets optically correct faceshields are treated with anti-scratch hardened coating and the exclusive EverClear® no-fog technology. Although the destroyed urban environment graphics look killer, these lids will not lay waste to your wallet as the EXO-400 retails for right around $159.95.

Useful Information on Scorpion Helmets' Warranty

Wearing a helmet is required by law for people who drive motorcycles down the highway. A motorcycle helmet reduces the chances of a fatal head or face injury if a driver figures out in a motorcycle accident. Unprotected motorcycle drivers are very susceptible to fatal injuries without a helmet.
To address the need of this essential protective gear, many companies produce motorcycle helmets. One of the most popular and well received helmet producers is Scorpion Exo-1000.
Their specialty products, which are Scorpion helmets, are engineered by some of the world's best helmet designers. Their products are composed of state-of-the-art materials. They use the newest manufacturing methods to manufacture these helmets. Finally, the products are tested rigorously to ensure that the helmet bought by a customer is high-quality, durable, and pleasantly aesthetic. The company also makes sure that their protective headgear meets or even surpasses the required safety standard.
However, production mishaps are unavoidable, and they sometimes do occur. A helmet that finds its way to the store may be defective. They may be damaged during manufacturing, or something may have gone wrong during the manufacturing process. Either way, it is not the customer's fault for accidentally buying a defective helmet.
In this case, the company offers a warranty. This enables customers who bought these faulty helmets to acquire another one without any defects free of charge. But before availing of the warranty, it is important to know how this service works.
All Scorpion helmets carry a three-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. That means you can return the product anytime three years after the date of purchase should evidence of manufacturing or shipping defects is detected. The warranty covers repairs and replacement of parts. It also covers labor and services that are necessary to repair the helmet.
This warranty does not apply, however, to normal wear and tear. That means you can't return the helmet just because the paint is faded or chipped due to frequent usage.
It does not apply to deliberate mishandling. If the helmet served its purpose (i.e., the motorcyclist figured out in an accident, and the helmet, though destroyed, was able to protect him), it is not covered with the warranty.
If the helmet is modified in any way, the warranty does not apply. Such modifications include but are not limited to installation of audio or lights systems, drilling the shell or liner, carving or compressing the liners, and repainting of the outer shell.
To avail of the warranty, you would need to fill out a warranty form. You should then ship the defective product to the manufacturer; however, if this is not applicable or is inconvenient for you, you can return the product to a local dealer. You would also need to prepay the mailing charge through postal money or credit.
If everything goes well, the company will send you a repaired helmet. If the defective helmet is discontinued or no longer available, SportExo will provide you with a model that has equal or even better value.

Scorpion EXO-1000 review -- Part8

This is what all the excitement was about. The Scorpion EXO-1000 includes air bladders in the cheek pads and a small air pump in the chin bar to inflate them. The air pump is a rubberized button, similar to...didn't Nike make an athletic shoe with an air pump back in the '80's or so?

Another small button lets the air out. This all sounds interesting, and it's so new and different that everyone thought it would change the world. But think about it -- when's the last time you felt the need to inflate the cheek pads in your Scorpion Helmets? I think once I bought a set of thinner cheek pads for an Arai helmet, but other than that, it's a need I didn't know I had.

With the cheek pads deflated, the helmet fits pretty much like any other Scorpion EXO-1000 helmet; maybe like the cheek pads are slightly thinner, i.e. more roomy than normal. But you don't really notice it until you pump them up. I can't really add much air before they get too tight.

So for those unusual owners who may have a large head but very hollow cheeks, this may be a desirable feature. For the rest of us, it's a complexity and weight additive that the Scorpion motorcycle helmets could do without. But then they wouldn't have much to market, no?

We're interested in hearing other opinions; perhaps we're missing something here?

Alpinestars Leather Motorcycle Gloves

Alpinestars Leather Motorcycle Gloves

Alpinestars Leather Motorcycle Gloves
Alpinestars makes a LOT of different gear for motorcycle riders and racers. In fact, they also make a large selection of leather and textile gloves. But we are going to review only ALPINESTARS “LEATHER” MOTORCYCLE GLOVES.
Alpinestars leather motorcycle gloves contain short gloves, for street riding, touring or everyday commuting, as well as 3/4 gloves, which are a compromise between the longest sports gloves and their short gloves.
Some of their short gloves feature perforated leather for maximum air-flow, as well as abrasion-resistant palms, which, combined together, offer excellent warm-weather performance.
For Alpinestars top-of-the-line leather gloves, you'll see their full-length, full protection, sport/racing gloves, which feature superior knuckle protection, precurved fingers (for better fit and tactile feel), along with their very best leather protection.

Alpinestars Motorcycle Gloves - Storm Rider GTX Gore-Tex Winter

Alpinestars Motorcycle Gloves
The Alpinestars motorcycle gloves "Storm Rider" were recommended by several webBikeWorld visitors and other local riders as a popular favorite, so we added them to the list for this comparison.
Alpinestars doesn't actually claim that the Storm Rider Gore-Tex gloves are for winter; in fact, they state that the Storm Rider "is a lightweight riding glove, ideal for touring and sport riding, even in cold weather".
I'm not sure I'd call them "lightweight", and they're not the warmest glove in this comparison, but I have to admit a growing admiration for them and I can see why they're so popular.
The warmest weather of summer may be a bit much for them; likewise the coldest depths of winter, but otherwise I think they would be an excellent choice for nearly all-year-round use, especially here in the Mid-Atlantic, where winter shouldn't be as cold as it has been recently.
Alpinestars makes a wide variety of high-quality motorcycle clothing and they have a strong reputation with motorcyclists around the world, and it looks like a lot of their experience went into the design of the Storm Rider gloves.
But you'll pay for 'em; the Storm Riders are tied with the Rev'it Tempest H2O gloves as the most expensive in this comparison.

Alpinestars motorcycle gloves

--Gore-Tex

Alpinestars motorcycle gloves--Gore-Tex

Alpinestars has you ready for any weather without sacrificing feel at the bars when you're wearing their waterproof 365 Drystar gloves. The breathable Gore-Tex X-Trafit membrane located under the outer leather chassis makes them an excellent choice for sunny weather as well - hence the 365 moniker. That's because Gore-Tex's X-Trafit liners permit the construction of a close-fitting glove that exhibits excellent tactile feel yet, is durable enough to withstand the rigors of the road-going rider. In other words, the 365 Gore-Tex glove's waterproof and breathable construction doesn't make your hands feel like they're surrounded by a garbage bag just to keep you dry. Except for a slightly thicker feel on top of the glove, the 365' isn't much different than other Alpinestars motorcycle gloves. The knuckles are covered by a solid PU protector and additional EVA padding is sewn into the leather above the fingers and on the thumb. The palm has an additional layer of synthetic suede attached in critical areas to impart extra abrasion resistance and Alpinestars uses their patented 3rd & 4th finger bridge to prevent painful finger damage in a crash. A long gauntlet makes sealing these waterproof gloves over your jacket's sleeves easy, further aiding their bad weather usefulness. All of this is available in a leather motorcycle glove that provides excellent dexterity and safety.

We really appreciate tips from other riders. If you would like to add a tip to this list, feel free to send it to us using our contact form.
If a manufacturer has taken the trouble to design a motorcycle glove with safety features it is highly unlikely that a wrist strap is not included. (give it a quick check)
Just make sure that the padding and glove liners don't hinder your feel of the controls.
An important tip is to be happy about the usability. You really have to get used to bigger, fatter fingers on the controls (just make sure they are not too fat).
If your gloves are well waterproofed you don't need rain gloves.
Use a motorcycle glove chart size so you can check which size you need.
Check out how the glove is stitched together. You will get extra cold hands if water can come in through the stitches.

        How to Review Motorcycle Gloves?
Gloves are your best remedy against road rash.So please get yourself some easy protection.
This Glove Guide shows you how to select quality Gloves plus you will find links to motorcycle apparel discounts, glove brands & motorcycle directories.

      Motorcycle Gloves Introduction

      Motorcycle summer gloves

Summer gloves are often no more that thin leather gloves without a lining and hardly any water resistance. It's best to consider having gloves made of leather as it's the safest (for example cycling gloves would be shredded in the event of a fall).
      Motorcycle fingerless gloves

There are two types, with and without fingers. (without might be comfy but you're not driving a car) If you ride in extreme sunny/hot conditions perforations in your gloves (for cooling) can give you a nasty sunburn.
      Motorcycle medium weight gloves

(racing gloves / summer gloves)
Medium weight is between summer and winter gloves and most riders have these. Some are lined, some aren't. These days they have special protection areas and are really comfortable. You can get them in all sorts and styles.
      Motorcycle winter gloves

Much thicker than medium weight gloves. Really made to keep your hands warm during colder weather. They will often have to handle rain too (just make sure they can, otherwise they are worthless).
      Motorcycle rain gloves
Often no more than a plastic covering to keep the rain out. I'm not such a fan of them. They can get slippery on the controls, get bulky and I don't like glove over glove. However rain gloves are often quite cheap and easy to carry along.
